I'm nearly done with a sketch for an Arduino Mega to read the GPS speed. It will also allow you to set the desired speed & mode as well as a list of configurable parameters using the menu system and a rotary encoder. It then calculates the throttle using a PID control loop to achieve the desired speed.

Speed Control
Here is the design for the display. We'll see how close this comes to the final product when the display arrives and get time to play with it. The set speed will be adjusted by a rotary encoder next to the gauge, the one that was used to adjust the speedometer that is being replaced. The temp will switch between air and water.

The new boat came without Perfect Pass, and I can't bring myself to pay $1250 for something I can build for $250. So, I'm going to build one before boating season starts. I've designed the gauge face and found a place that can laser mark it for me. I've also designed LCD, but we'll get to that.
